Garlands!

I have so many new garlands arriving this week! With so many more in process. I've been busy designing and creating some really fun and unique styles that will make any party, wedding or event even more memorable. All of the garlands I make by hand are high-quality. I use ultra heavy paper and cording as well as package them in a hand-stamped muslin bag so that you can use your garland over and over!

If you want to get creative you can un-string your bunting after the initial use and come up with other fun phrases using the letters!

I pre-string all the banners so you don't have to! Just open, hang and enjoy! Great for weddings, great for birthdays, even wonderful as inside home decor. I have one in my son's nursery too!

Invitations are Back!

Life is so funny... Back in 2000, I was planning my own wedding and could not find invitations that both fit my budget and had awesome style. So as a designer I decided to create my own. Took me about 3 years to perfect them but alas, I did and we loved them. I still do! They were orange, fuchsia and yellow with touches of green. Our theme was tropical and fun. We had steel drummers and amazing floral designs created by my sister.

During the planning stages I spent a lot of time on different wedding forums. I found that a lot of people needed help with their invites. I started offering to help just because I really enjoyed the process of designing invites.

Two years later Earmark was born. I would sit under my loft bed in our 400 square foot apartment in Boston designing invites. I created simple invites that were budget friendly to the max and then over the years created lavish sets that cost nearly five figures. We have done letterpress, engraving, embossing, thermography... you name it. We did it.

We created one-of-a-kind invitations for Tony Robbins, numerous times, for special events reserved only for his most valuable members. We made amazing invites for a Gifting Suite at the Sundance Film Festival. The invites had velvet, satin ribbons, wax seals and bespoke chocolate bars. It was lavish and beautiful - really ooh la la! These were sent out to all the big names... Paul Rudd, Antonio Banderas, Matisyahu, Paris Hilton and many other well-known celebs.

Somewhere along the way we decided that invites were not working for us anymore. The times had changed. Budgets became smaller and the industry hadn't really hit its flow yet. So in order to make ends meet we decided to switch our focus into the stationery and art print world - the Earmark you know and love today

Over the last few years I found myself really missing the excitement of creating invitations, big and small. I missed being in the wedding world and being a part of people's celebrations and happy life moments. Which leads us to today... right here, right now. I am ready, I am excited! I cannot wait to embark on this new (old) journey with open arms and excitement. I look forward to taking all I have learned over the years and sharing it with you.

So without further adieu, I would like to present you with the newest addition to Earmark Social Goods... INVITES! We will have an invite gallery going up on the site soon with some of our old favorites and a lot of new and awesome designs. We will cover almost all budgets - we don't want to leave anyone out!

Our line of goods will include invitations for weddings, birthdays, reunions, parties... Looking for affordable and unique shower invitations? How about some paper goods for your wedding reception and ceremony. We will have it all!

4th Annual Sketchbook Challenge!

It’s that time of year… our 4th annual sketchbook challenge is here! We’re doing things a little differently in hopes that it will be a little easier to keep to the challenge. It will be two weeks long, starting September 18th and will end on October 1st. The challenge requires one drawing per day, doesn’t have to be fancy. Can be simple, can be anything you want as long as it involves a sketchbook! The point is to be creative and do something artistic each day - to spread more art around! Make sure to share your drawing by tagging @earmark and by using the hashtag #earmarksketchclub on your day’s creations! We can’t wait to see what you create. Inspire us!

Lemon, Goat Cheese, Dutch Pancake with Ginger-Infused Syrup

This pancake recipe is my go-to. So simple, so delicious and so damn impressive! Put this on the table and watch everyone at the table swoon. I was really wishing I had 4 small cast-iron skillets, but alas, I only have the one and that is all I really need! I love this thing though. I can't believe I went so many years without owning my own! If you don't have one, spend the $10-20 and get one! Game. Changer.

INGREDIENTS:

1 Cup milk, 2% (Almond, Coconuts, etc. are all good)
1 Cup all-purpose flour
6 Eggs
1 Lemon, juiced and zested
Goat Cheese Crumbles (You can leave this out if you prefer or if you just don't have it on hand)
2 Tsp of grated ginger
Dash of salt
3 Tbsp of butter, melted for the skillet.

DIRECTIONS

Preheat oven to 400°
Put the butter into an 11” skillet and place in the oven, until melted
Remove skillet with potholder
Mix together milk, eggs, lemon juice and zest, grated ginger and salt, mix well
Pour pancake mixture into the pan
Sprinkle the crumbled goat cheese on top of pancake
bake for 25-40 minutes, until golden on top (time will vary based on your cooking dish and oven)

Sprinkle with powdered sugar and add some fresh fruit for garnish.

If your batter is too thin add a little more flour slowly until you reach desired thickness.

Ginger-Infused Syrup
1 cup maple syrup
1 tablespoon minced fresh ginger, add a bit more if you want to spice it up!

Place maple syrup and ginger in small saucepan. Bring to a boil; remove from heat. Cover; let stand 20 minutes. Strain; serve warm. Refrigerate unused syrup.
